Pitch is a project born from the collaboration of four photographers, focused on the Italian reality of cricket. It is a very popular sport in the world, mostly in English-speaking countries where it is second only to football in terms of number of fans. In Italy, however, it is not known yet. The main teams that play the Italian competitions every year, including the national team, are made up almost exclusively of players from nations with a strong tradition in this sport such as India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh and who have been settled in Italy for years now.One of the symbols of this sport is the pitch, the area in the center of the field where batsman and pitcher challenge each other to lead their team to victory. The matches are played on weekends mainly in suburbs fields obtained from urban parks or intended for other more practiced sports disciplines. The athletes, often players who do not live from this sport, show an uncommon passion and a high sporting spirit. This sport is a precious opportunity for them to get together, also made up of non-sporting moments that involve not only the players, but also family and friends, looking for a link with their culture of origin and traditions. The project aims to tell the spirit of this sport, the values and peculiarities that portray it on and off the field, showing the experience of the four authors especially in the cities of Rome, Milan, Prato and Lucca.
